Seattle’s 1st Annual Race for the SWIN Knocks the 'Staches Off Our Sponsors

Swinerton Builders Seattle held its first annual Race for the SWIN event on Thursday, November 10 with a goal to raise funds to support The Swinerton Foundation.

The event was held at K1 Speed in Redmond and consisted of carnival style go-kart racing sponsored by Talluss Architectural Products Inc, Firstline Systems, and Specialized Janitorial Services. The racers with the top 10 best lap times throughout the 2.5 hours of racing were entered into the Championship Race, sponsored by SAK & Associates.

Swinerton and some of our sponsors donated swag bags to attendees, which contained a “racing stache” (since you’re not a true racer until you’ve got a 'stache) and a checkered bandana; some racers got pretty creative with the 'staches, while others stuck with just the bandanas and helmets.

Competition grew fierce when sponsors requested to have a few Swinerton folks participate in the racing, but the day ended with smiles and racing 'staches all around. The top three winners of the Championship Race walked away with some great prizes, including a Milwaukee Insulated Jacket, Home Depot gift card, and a Swinerton Safety jacket.

Those who were not racing were able to play cornhole, giant jenga, and ping pong. Prizes for the winners included the infamous Swinerton mason jar mug, water bottles, aprons, and reusable grocery bags.

Thanks to the incredible participation of our subcontractors and others who attended and supported this event, the team presented The Swinerton Foundation with a check of just under $30,000! Everyone at Swinerton is immensely proud of this achievement in the Seattle team's first event for The Swinerton Foundation and is looking forward to an even bigger and better Race for the SWIN next year!

A big thank you to all those involved in making this a fan"stache"tic event, we couldn’t have done it without you!
