Fortune names Swinerton one of the Top 30 places to work for Millennials

For the second straight year, Fortune ranked Swinerton as one of the Best Workplaces for Millennials, coming in at #28 in their rankings (a very Millennial-appropriate number).

Millennials are now the largest generation of people in the American workforce, so it's a great honor for Swinerton not only to receive this award this year, but also to have moved up from a #44 ranking last year. Swinerton was the only general contractor to make the Top 100 list.

With offices in 14 locations from coast to coast, over 35 percent of Swinerton's workforce are Millennials, and employees had great things to say about life at Swinerton, highlighting the integrity, happiness, and excitement of the company and their fellow coworkers.

This marks Swinerton's fourth major recognition from Fortune. In 2016, Swinerton was recognized as #15 of the 30 Best Workplaces to Retire From and #44 of the 100 Best Workplaces for MillennialsIn 2017, Swinerton was named the #7 Best Workplace in the Bay Area.

Fortune's list of Best Workplaces for Millennials is based on three critical metrics. First, the list is based on how positively Millennials rated their organizations on over 50 different metrics defining great workplaces, such as managers' competence, respect and fairness in the workplace, opportunities for meaningful work, and great colleagues. Second, Fortune compared Millennials' survey results to other generations, analyzing an index of factors where Millennials often lag their peers, such as access to meaningful work, fair pay, and plans for a future with their organizations. Finally, Fortune also analyzed demographic patterns to ensure that companies were creating great workplaces for all Millennials, regardless of who they are or what they do for the organization.
